Being trans is difficult

The funny thing is, I wish I felt like a woman. It would be easier to wear dresses, skirts and blouses rather than men's clothes. I wouldn't have to worry about being murdered, or getting beat up by men or women who feel like I'm a freak. I wouldn't have to worruy about being denied transgender/gender affirming healthcare. I'd like to transition here shortly but the way the country is going? I might need to move to California or Washington State.

I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area which is all about trans affirming care but reality is, it could be taken away at any moment. Places like Cali, Washington, Colorado or Oregon and New York City are better suited for living for someone like me. I'm also a Wiccan Witch but Cleveland should be okay for now.

I need to get a job as a psychologist and make a lot of money so I can move west in the next few years. I think that's my best bet.

There's a man crying in the middle of the video because a woman was on the phone talking about how trans people need to be eradicated and destroyed basically. I haven't experienced this kind of hate except in my family to be honest. I haven't been faced with being told in public that I'm a disgrace to humanity. When I was a teenager and I first came out, I spent my time praying to God to make me a biological man. He never answered my prayers, but I'm more comfortable being trans now then I was back then.


I just want to hug all my trans brothers and sisters, and non-binary siblings going through fear and hate in this country at this very moment. I know it gets better.

Now I know what I'll be writing for nanowrimo. A semi-dystopian novel about transpeople and the gay community being beaten back into the dark ages and hiding who they really are once it's outlawed. I plan on making it a bright ending, a positive ending. But I want to write a thriller that scares many of us because it's what a lot of us fear with all that's going on.

Mood. California is a good place for us trans people. Ohio in itself isn't hella trans friendly, but it's one thing I'll give Cleveland, at least the city is trying to be trans friendly. Lakewood is pretty Wiccan friendly; there was a store I used to frequent called The New Moon... unfortunately I think they've closed up. I was just in Lakewood and the storefront was empty and had a "for lease" sign in the window. :(

I'm happy I'm not the only one feeling this way, but I wish even more none of us had to feel this way. Definitely a good place for transfolks. It's trans friendly in Columbus, Cinci, Akron, Dayton and Cleveland as far as I know.

How big is lakewood? and Damn, that sucks balls. There's plenty of shops in Cleveland I think? I'm pretty sure anyway.

Lakewood isn't too big, typical suburb kinda population. It always has had a big LGBTQ+ population, which is cool. It's hella expensive to live there tho, my ex's dad and his bf lived there and their rent was like $3,000 a month.

My heart goes out to you! I'm in the UK and we are also feeling the effects of this transphobic atmosphere but as with all prejudices whether it be colour, religion, LGBT etc the biggots are thankfully in a minority and we must try and focus on those who do show incredible support over those that don't.

The world is full of sane and caring people who just want to get on with their own lives just as we do and who see that living together with harmony and acceptance creates a much more interesting and healthy planet and future for us all. I like to think that with Misha's very moving vid that if she had broken down in the store, right in front of that abuser she might well have seen an equally decent person step in and show her some solid support to remind her the world is not full of hate.

Those are some of the safest in terms of human rights overall. In terms of other safety, though, they're highly prone to earthquakes and the water wars.

Midwest is okay, West Coast is often better.
