Pre-day 1: Wrote some character bios, and did affirmations

I know it's late but I did my affirmations earlier, now it's about doing them before bed. I got some writing done tonight too.

since Nano is out of the picture, I'm going to make a fandom/original fic writing challenge on dreamwidth. I hope people join and participate. It'll happen every summer. I need to work out the logistics. D: I want to write a victorian era novel so bad since watching Lisa Frankenstein, I'm in love with Cole Sprouse's creature. He was adorable.

It'll be in July probably or August. I'm working out the details now on how i want to run it :D Question, should we allow people to do art work as long as they're compensated if an author makes a lot of money?

Answer, I think artists and authors should be allowed to cooperate on contributions, but they should be allowed to make their own arrangements in terms of payment and such.

Question, would it be possible to partake, although you're writing in another language but English?

And Yes! Since we're doing it like nano used to do, they can write in something other than English.

I started it here dreamanddraft I'll get it finished in a couple weeks. I may do a drafting the outline/details challenge as well so people do their outlines. I'd love to give prizes for anyone completing the challenges.

This looks so great! In NaNo, these past few years, you could set your own word count goal, like, 30K for example, is that something you can do here too or is it strictly the 50K mark that counts?

I want people to write enough to publish a novella or a full length novel. You're not allowed to post your finished novella for free unless you're giving it away for free wherever you post it. Then you can post it for free. idk, still working out the kinks.

In august you can, in December it's 50,000. :D

Oh man. That reminds me. I was intending to participate in a fandom ship week challenge for late May but my research was slightly lacking so I felt I couldn't start writing, and then I got distracted, and suddenly it's almost two months later. ADHD life and all that.
I suppose what I really need is an outline/background research challenge, to get it done. I'm the kind that just can't start the writing process if I don't have a firm enough grasp on the relevant canon details.

Whoo. You should next time it comes around. I feel the same way! I could always start a plotting challenge to plot like J.K Rowling? I suppose. Would you like something like that? I figure it could be a pre-challenge, a challenge before the real challenge.
