Returning to fanfic in order to hone my writing skills

I spent four years not writing. Now suddenly I'm back into writing and I am very rusty. So, in order to get this challenge off the ground: I'm returning to writing fanfiction and original story shorts so I can get back into my emotive writing. I miss how well things used to flow before. How well written I was. I had a writing habit that's hard to get back into again.

I'll update around 1 or 2 in the morning with writing I've gotten done today.


I love the aids where I am right now. They take such good care of me except one who has issues with me, especially after I reported her. She does clean me up on time and stuff though, but she grunts at me and stuff. It's weird.

Anyway, this one aid brings me snacks, and even bought me dinner tonight because I ended up not liking what they served. I owe her. Hopefully I get money someday soon so I can pay her back. D: She got me friendship's pizza, which means I'll be saving ten bucks from my check in order to buy a whole pizza next pay day. It's inexpensive yet it's some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. It cost like 10 bucks. The rest is going toward a paid account on my journal here. Probably six months paid time.

I wish I had examples of my writing. so I could do some crowdfunding. Would be ultra nice so I can buy another laptop incase this one dies, and get a new phone and tablet as well. (Dropped my tablet, it's cracked and my phone had a bunch of water spilled on it, so blah) I'm going to have to research crowdfunding for fanworks, so I can get people to pay me to write for them stuff they want to read.

That's an excellent plan.

Crowdfunding is typically for original work. Fanwork is supposed to be free so you don't get sued. Some people do sell fanworks but it's risky.

However, you'll note that a lot of material is basically fanwork with the serial numbers filed off. Change the character names, tweak the setting a bit, leave out anything unique to the original work, and it's usually safe.

That's the book I used to get better by the way. I used to have it, it's probably packed away with my mom's stuff. I'll get the books again in a little bit.

I'll be writing original work in a few, but I've seen quite a few folks selling commissions for personalized fanfics.

I'm going to go ahead, throw caution to the wind and do the same thing. It's mainly for my time and labor. People will also be helping me learn a writing habit again.

It's the same as someone being commissioned to draw a scene from a fanfic or two crossover characters that don't belong to the commissioner. I would never try to publish any of it as original work with the characters as is or anything though.
